International collaboration
Dr Michiko Fujisawa is an Intensive Care Physician based at Yokohama Minato Red Cross Hospital in Japan. Dr Fujisawa and colleagues have formally established an independent professional group called TraCARE, and launched their official website in December 2025. The site is in Japanese but most modern web browsers (eg Google Chrome) will translate easily into English and other languages.
Going forward, this website will serve as the central platform for TraCARE's educational activities β including resources for clinicians, training updates, and the dissemination of tracheostomy-related safety initiatives within Japan. In addition, the team plan to use the site to share information directly with neck breathers and their families and carers.
