The NTSP Paediatric working group has been looking at the risks of children with tracheostomies passing infections to others. This is a particular concern during the coronavirus pandemic and the NTSP is concerned that overly cautious guidance may stop some children accessing their essential educational and social needs. In this video, Consultant Otolaryngologist Mr Neil Bateman explains that the risks of a child with a tracheostomy passing aerosol-generated infections to others is incredibly small.
