We can consider the different options we use to communicate in different ways. Some of these are applicable to different situations, settings and patients, and the best communication method may vary from day to day. You can of course use multiple methods at the same time.
We can classify the different augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods by:
- Their technological complexity
- Their ease of use
- Their effectiveness
