DAS recommend a one person technique. This has advantages when training, but can cause problems if difficulties are encountered or assistance is required. The level of manual dexterity required is also greater.
An advantage of these techniques is that all that is required is a scalpel, a bougie and a tube, common pieces of equipment almost always available in all theatre settings.
There are techniques which use two operators.
Think back to the human factors video and reflect on the impact these two different approaches may have.
